DEQ will hold the second Rule Advisory Committee meeting for the Umpqua River Basin Water Quality Management Plan on April 29, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The virtual meeting is open to the public and may include public comment if time allows.

About This Rulemaking

DEQ is updating the Water Quality Management Plan to implement the replacement Umpqua River Basin Temperature TMDL. EPA, with support from DEQ, developed this replacement TMDL to comply with a court order requiring new temperature TMDLs that reflect updated Oregon water quality standards. EPA issued the revised TMDL on June 27, 2025. 

DEQ is convening a Rule Advisory Committee to evaluate the proposed rules’ policy, fiscal, and economic impacts. Appointed members represent affected interests and offer those perspectives during the process.
