Regenerative Viticulture Field Day

If you are curious about "regenerative viticulture" or already implementing some of its concepts, the principles of regenerative farming have something to offer everyone. You are invited to a field day at my vineyard on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 12PM--2PM to discuss and observe these concepts in the field.

Mimi Casteel, a leading expert in the field (and an Oregon winemaker/vineyard owner) will cover the basics of the regenerative farming philosophy, from soil health to animal integration and disease management. . This will be active peer-to-peer sharing of knowledge, experience, and practice.

(Mimi also created the "One Block Challenge" in which participants choose a portion of their vineyard-- which could be one row or up to one block--and farm that portion using some regenerative practices for one season. The goal is to demonstrate measurable improvements in soil health and vine vitality.)

Please let Doug Rose know by March 24th if you would like to attend this field day so we can get an attendance count.  (Also, if you know any other growers in the Umpqua AVA that would like to attend, they are also welcome.)
