Save the Oregon Dunes
What: Trail maintenance event at the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area’s trail to the beach.
When: Saturday, June 28 from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Who: Save the Oregon Dunes & The Trailkeepers of Oregon.

Information: Participants will be brushing out the trail with loppers and hand saws. While working down the trail, the group will be taking breaks so Dina Pavlis with ODRC can discuss the history, geology, flora and fauna of the Oregon dunes. The hike will be at a leisurely pace with a break for lunch. The group will go down the dunes to the forested area where the trail maintenance will occur and end at the beach and then return. This event is limited to 12 participants and plan to stay for the entire time.
Directions:
From Florence, OR take Highway 101 south 11.4 miles. Look for the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area sign. Turn right (west) into the parking area.
From Reedsport, OR take Highway 101 north 11.5 miles. Look for the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area sign. Turn left (west) into the parking area.
Parking: Go past the individual parking spaces next to the side walk, and park in the parking area for larger vehicles. Day use fees are waived for volunteers at this event.
The Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative works to collaboratively support, guide and promote Oregon dunes restoration and the preservation of the open sand habitat that benefits the plants, animals and people who live and play in this special place.
